Bulldogs stumble at home against the Stallions

Sun parts the gloom of overcast skies illuminating Civic Field for a bout between two Pacific Football League heavy-weights Saturday, May 16th. The Bellingham Bulldogs tried to makeup for their first 2015 home loss with a victory over the visiting Stallions from Seattle. The Stallions were out the gate early, taking the opening kickoff to the house and stunning the Bellingham crowd. The Bulldogs would not give up so easily. Moving the ball down-field with a balanced ground and air attack Bellingham positioned themselves in the red zone for a touchdown. But it was not without cost. Several miscues lead to the use of all three of their first half timeouts. The Bulldogs scored two more touchdowns, relying on their defense for quick three-and-outs. However Seattle rallied and scored three unanswered touchdowns to head into half-time with the lead. Bellingham gets Shutout at Home

An emotional first home game of the 2015 Pacific Football League season was bitter-sweet as the South Lane Buzzards handed the Bellingham Bulldogs their first loss on a sun-soaked Civic Field Saturday, May 2nd.

Hearts were heavy for the Bulldogs in remembrance of two exceptional teammates and individuals that passed away during the off-season. Far too young to leave this world, Sean Hicks and Steve Faoro will be forever immortalized in the hearts of their teammates, friends and loved ones.

The play on the field reflected the melancholy moment as the Bulldogs struggled to gain any momentum. The undermanned Buzzards attacked a sluggish Bulldogs team with a series of read-option plays and short passing routes, keeping the chains moving and Bellingham's offense off the field through most of the first half. Early penalties, missed opportunities and poor execution kept the Bulldogs from reaching the red-zone. Overall an aberration from what Bulldog fans typically see on the field. However this loss on this particular night may be the railing point Bellingham needs to catapult them into the playoffs. Final score 0-32. Click here to view photos from the game.
